A Bollywood Take on Sukkot, the Jewish Harvest Festival

As Durga Puja, the Bengali festival honouring the goddess Durga, comes to a close, and as Sukkot, the Jewish festival of pilgrimage, begins tonight, we’re sharing a glimpse of Jeff and Sujata’s sukkah from past years.During Sukkot, Jews build a sukkah, a temporary outdoor structure covered with branches, to commemorate the 40 years of wandering in the desert after the Exodus and to celebrate the harvest season. Their sukkah blends Jewish wisdom and tradition with Sujata’s Indian cultural aesthetics—a vibrant meeting of two worlds. 🌿🌸
