Hannukah in Istanbul: Where Worlds Meet… and Pull Apart.
Istanbul is often described as a city where cultures and religions coexist—but what does that look like today? We arrived just days after a deadly attack targeting Jews at a Hanukkah celebration in Bondi Beach, at a moment when tensions from the Middle East were reverberating globally. And then, we walked into a Hanukkah celebration in Istanbul. Inside the synagogue, there were candles, Ladino songs, and centuries-old traditions still alive. Outside, there were protests.. As we explore the city—from Galata to the Bosphorus—we uncover the layered story of Istanbul’s Jewish community and the cosmopolitan world around it. But this journey is also personal, revealing how differently the same city can be experienced depending on who you are.

Two Queen Cities Face Off: Nelson and Regina
Two cities. One crown. In this Queen City Showdown, we pit Regina against Nelson to ask which place truly deserves the title.
One claim comes from royal symbolism. The other comes from local identity, performance, and pride. Who wears it better?
Hollywood Rebranded My Hometown | How a Movie Transformed Nelson, BC
Sujata grew up in Nelson, British Columbia, a small mountain town in the Kootenays. Long before it became a film location, it was a mining town, a railway town, and later a refuge for draft resisters and counterculture communities.
Then in 1986 something strange happened. Hollywood arrived.
Sujata returns to her hometown to explore how film, myth, and memory reshaped Nelson’s identity.

Jeff Returns Home — to the Hidden World of the Hotel Saskatchewan
Behind the chandeliers and polish of the Hotel Saskatchewan lies a hidden world — one Jeff knows through his grandfather Moshe who arrived in Regina in 1946 and worked as a porter and bellman.
He wore his crisp CP uniform with pride, serving guests upstairs while a secret life thrived below — bellmen’s lockers hiding whiskey bottles, jokes traded in the halls, and the quiet rebellion that defined the prairie spirit.
This episode is about Jeff’s Regina: the streets where he grew up, the people who raised him, and the stories that make the prairies shine beneath the surface of elegance.

A Bollywood Take on Sukkot, the Jewish Harvest Festival
As Durga Puja, the Bengali festival honouring the goddess Durga, comes to a close, and as Sukkot, the Jewish festival of pilgrimage, begins tonight, we’re sharing a glimpse of Jeff and Sujata’s sukkah from past years.
During Sukkot, Jews build a sukkah, a temporary outdoor structure covered with branches, to commemorate the 40 years of wandering in the desert after the Exodus and to celebrate the harvest season. Their sukkah blends Jewish wisdom and tradition with Sujata’s Indian cultural aesthetics—a vibrant meeting of two worlds. 🌿🌸

A Non Hipster’s Guide to the Real Mile End
After years of filming stories from Kolkata to Lisbon, Sujata decided to turn the camera on her own neighbourhood: Mile End, Montreal.
Yes, it’s famous for bagels and hipster cafés — but behind the Instagram shots are hidden histories and layered communities. Guided by her friend, Leslie, Sujata explores the synagogues turned schools, Ukrainian cultural centres, Greek churches, pierogis, souvlaki, bagel rivalries, and Glen LeMesurier’s secret sculpture garden.

Lisbon: Not Just a Postcard
From Alfama’s fado to São Domingos’ secrets, from the Jewish quarter to Goan kitchens — this is the Lisbon you haven’t seen before.
We all carry a postcard of Lisbon in our minds: trams and tiles, fado and flowers. But behind the sepia tones are stories that span continents — and centuries

This Instagrammable Greek town looks like Venice
Is this Venice? Nope — it’s Náfplio, Greece 🇬🇷📸
This coastal gem fooled us too: pink facades, seaside castles, and narrow stone streets that scream romance. But Náfplio is more than just Instagram gold — it was the first capital of modern Greece, shaped by Venetian, Ottoman, and ancient Greek layers of history.
We drove up to panoramas, found a surprise skating rink (!!), and soaked in mountain-and-sea views that felt straight out of a painting.
