Jewish song at a Catholic service in Warsaw

Sujata shot this in April 2016 in Warsaw. With the crucifix in the background, it seemed to be a Catholic worship service. But unbeknownst to her, this song was Havenu Shalom Aleichem, a Jewish folk song meaning "We brought peace upon you". Often sung at weddings, the song is thought to be originating with Romanian Hasidic Jews. It was Hebrewized and is now recognized as an Israeli folk song. Shalom Aleicham is a Hebrew greeting meaning "Peace be upon you" much like As-salamu alaykum in Arabic. For the holiday season, Fierce Travel will be presenting No Comment, a series of short videos about previous travels.
