We are opposites, how do we travel?

We are so different, from our musical tastes, to our risk tolerance. Jeff likes Tim Horton, Sujata thinks we can do better. How do we travel?

Hello everyone! We are Jeff and Sujata, a pair of newlyweds with a shared love for travel. However, as much as we have in common, we also have our own fair share of differences.

Let’s start with our tastes in technology and music. Jeff, for instance, has a nostalgic fondness for rotary telephones and radios, cherishing the classics of yesteryear. He would insist, “The Beatles are the best… Classic!” I, on the other hand, am more of a child of the 80s, keeping pace with the trends and even enjoying recent music.

Our mornings are usually very distinct. Jeff typically starts his day early, immersing himself in the news from his hometown, Regina, Saskatchewan, frequently checking out nostalgic content about it before I even wake up.  Then, Sujata wakes up later to read the news from all over the world.

Now, if you consider our food preferences, you’ll find another stark contrast. For Jeff, it’s as if there are only three restaurants in the entire world, one of which is Tim Hortons.

Our individual histories with travel also tell unique stories. Sujata used to travel all over the world until the pandemic put a stop to that. Jeff too was a traveller, but he had to put his journeys on hold after experiencing a stroke in 2016. Our paths crossed in 2022 and we fell in love, eventually deciding to tie the knot.

Together, we believe in planning for the worst, but we also know the importance of being spontaneous and adjusting our plans as necessary. After all, travel is all about embracing unexpected adventures and learning from each experience.

We invite you to join us on our travels, to experience how two people with different tastes and preferences navigate the world together. We promise it’ll be a journey full of interesting twists and turns. Don’t forget to subscribe to our channel, Fierce Travel, to keep up with all our adventures. See you on the road!

And then, we walked into a Hanukkah celebration in Istanbul. Inside the synagogue, there were candles, Ladino songs, and centuries-old traditions still alive. Outside, there were protests.. As we explore the city—from Galata to the Bosphorus—we uncover the layered story of Istanbul’s Jewish community and the cosmopolitan world around it.
